KRESS FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH
On a Sunday afternoon, Jan. 19, 1909, a number of grave men and women assembled in Kress Methodist Church to organize the First Baptist Church. A committee was appointed to secure lots for the church building. McGlasson and A. L. Harlan were named deacons. The Rev. J. D. Cook was called as pastor.

The first revival, held in Aug. 1910, was conducted by the Rev. R. E. Bell of Plainview.
