building fund was started.

Water was piped into the church and a storage tank was purchased in 1938. The west side was shingled in 1941 , and plans made for remodeling the interior. Work was completed in less than a month. Women of the WMU began raising funds to buy curtains to separate Sunday School Classes. The first Vacation Bible School was held in 1942. The pastor's wife, Mrs. Howell was superintendent.

In 1947, plans were made to build a two story, brick building. Ground was broken April 27, 1947. The Rev. Russell L. Pogue was pastor. One full time carpenter was hired to supervise members who were donating labor.

When completed in Oct., a Joy Offering was taken in the amount of $2000.00. The old building sold at public auction.

In 1951, a ready built house was moved in to serve as a parsonage. In 1953 the church voted to build a new auditorium and education wing. Because of lack of funds, the building was never constructed. In 1957, during the pastorage of John Ferguson, the education wing was built using part of the 1954 blueprint.

In 1963, the street around the church was paved. A new auditorium was erected and the dedication was held May 8, 1972. In the spring of 1976, improvements were made on the parsonage. On Jan.
30, 1977, a special service of note framing was held as the indebtedness on the church building had been paid.
