UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
A Methodist church was organized at Wright in Swisher County in the spring of 1906. When Wright was moved to the present site of Kress, trustees of the church bought lots and men of the community donated labor to construct the first church building there in 1907 and 1908. The people were so elated to have a church building that services were held as soon as the floor was in.

After the church was complete a small parsonage was built by donated labor. Bro. George H. Bryant, the first pastor, and his family were the first to occupy this new parsonage.
