the faithful members built the church. This building was on the corner of Broadway and Donley.

Exactly fifty years from its founding, the First Christian Church people sold the old building and bought the present property on the corner of North Maxwell and Northwest Sixth St. The residence situated on this property was converted into a meeting house and sanctuary. It was called the "House Church."

Some names later found in the church history

were: Fred I. Hale, Mrs. Griffin, Mrs. I. C. Sprague, Mrs. T. D. Daniel, Mrs. E. G. Burke, and James Fry. These were teachers or officers.The present sanctuary was begun in the spring of 1969 and was dedicated Sept. 14, 1969. Dr. John Knowles, Area Minister, was the dedication speaker. Marshall Ebeling was chairman of the building committee and other members were Mildred Smith, and T. W. Moore Jr. The Rev. Win Marsler was an interim minister. The present minister is Rev. Robert Glenn who retired in 1972, but is doing an ad-interim with the church.

CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH
A survey was taken of the town of Tulia, and surrounding area in the spring of 1946, under the direction of Rev. Martin J. Hartenberger, Trinity Lutheran Amarillo. Several Lutheran families were discovered. The Texas District elected to help establish a congregation in Tulia.
