Brother Jerry Terry was called in the latter part of 1960, as the first full time pastor, and moved to the Baptist parsonage Jan. 24, 1961. In Feb. the church voted to build a church building. While it was being constructed services were held in the San Jacinto School. The ground breaking service was held on Easter Sunday, April 2, 1961, and the church building was dedicated free of debt, Feb. 18, 1962. A Brotherhood was organized that same year.

While Brother Rex Newkirk was pastor, the organizations of W.M.S., Sunbeams, and RA, were started. During the ministry of Brother James Allison, the church had the largest Vacation Bible school enrollment in its history in the spring of 1967.
