This building was torn down in 1948 to make way for the paved farm to market road. It was placed further back on the lots donated by Everett and Arnold Isbell. The original structure was a one room frame building 26' by 38'. The sixteen foot ceiling was made of three inch beaded wood, stained brown. Inside there was a gasoline mantle light hanging from the ceiling. The pews were made of one by four inch boards. A coal burning stove heated the church. The pine pulpit was made by one of the settlers. A piano furnished music for the choir, seated on the twelve inch high stage.

The present building constructed in 1949 is called the Vigo Park Community Church. By 1948 there were as many Baptist as Methodist, and the two denominations voted to build the new church as a joint project. The pastors shared services, alternating Sundays, while the fifth Sunday remained open to any other denomination; all people, regardless of denomination were
